Alright, so here’s the deal—strange combination, but somehow my obsession with Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters collided with my first love, Star Wars. If you’d told me it would happen, I’d probably laugh. I mean, how on Earth do Cal Kestis and Rumi from HUNTR/X even relate? Seems nuts, right?
Guess what? Turns out they all wanna crush their foes and look fabulous while doing it. Who’d have thought?
Anyway, there’s this killer video by AnimatedJen. Trust me, if you need a morning pick-me-up, this’ll do the trick.
Set to the beats of "How It’s Done" from HUNTR/X, we see Jedi guy Cal Kestis teaming with Bode Akuna and Merrin, the Nightsister, smashing up Empire baddies. They don’t topple planes, but man, their moves are slick in this edit.
Bode’s all like, "More of them? Really?" The fun part comes when Cal boots a shoretrooper. Meanwhile, Bode jets in — quite literally — for a face-breaking punch. Merrin’s fancy staff twirl seals the deal. By then, I’m pumped and there’s still more action to come.
I’ve followed AnimatedJen for a bit — love the effort. She’s spinning her own Cal Kestis stories, and I dig it. I’m on board with Cal as an Inquisitor—seems wild but awesome. Folks are yelling for these game characters to hit live-action, and I’m right there with them.
What makes Star Wars a legendary fandom for me? It’s fans taking stuff and throwing their own twist on it. Is it logical for Cal, Merrin, and — oh, Bode. Yeah, I won’t get into you — to use K-Pop tunes for power-boosts and stormtrooper-smashing? Nah. Could it happen? Why not? I mean, sure, I’m dubbing them team MANT/S. Does Cere Junda become their manager now? Somebody write this fanfic already! And modders, hey, let’s see those outfits in action.
I’m off to fire up Jedi: Fallen Order, blasting "Takedown" while slicing those pesky Imperials.
