Sure, let me give this a shot.
Okay, so here’s some news: The Pokémon Company International just dropped a bombshell (well, kind of) about this new expansion thingy called Wisdom of Sea and Sky for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. It’s rolling out next week, or like, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to be exact. Anyone else still think it’s weird writing "2025"? Feels like sci-fi.
Anyway, the cool part? You’ll bump into some old-school Pokémon that we first met ages ago back in the Johto days—Pokémon Gold and Silver vibes. We’re talking Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile (cuties) and, of course, the big Legendary ones, Lugia and Ho-Oh. Classic, right?
One wild thing they’re introducing: Pokémon that attack without needing any Energy. Like, what? Is this a game-changer or just my overly caffeinated brain thinking too much? Maybe both, who knows. But this should shake up how people build their decks and fight, I guess.
Oh, and speaking of changes, they’re tinkering with their Trade feature. Here’s the scoop:
-
Wishlist Feature: Now, you can practically broadcast which cards you’re itching to get. It’s all very “please trade with me, I need that card” energy. Up to 20 cards, if you’re wondering. Highlight three on your profile, because why not?
- Trade Tweaks: Bye-bye trade tokens. Gone. Poof. Instead, it’s all about shinedust. Sounds sparkly, doesn’t it? Getting it requires missions, achievements, or—wait for it—duplicates. If you’re a collector, this might be your new grind. Quick tip: If you’ve got trade tokens collecting dust, swap them out for pack hourglasses (whatever those are) and shinedust at the in-game shop before July 30. After that, nada.
Is it just me, or does navigating all these in-game economies feel like trying to balance a checkbook? Not that I actually do that.
For anyone who doesn’t know, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app is available for download on iOS and Android. Just a heads-up if this is your cup of tea.
And before I forget, there’s some kind of trailer out there for Pokémon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky, but I got sidetracked and didn’t watch it. Oops.
Okay, rambling over. Catch you next time!
