Ugh, okay, so here’s the deal with Black Ops 7 — the latest in the Call of Duty saga. Activision, those sneaky devils, they teased us back in June with this trailer at the Xbox Showcase. And then… nothing. Yeah, zilch. Kind of like the time I promised myself I’d learn guitar and then, well, the guitar’s still in the corner gathering dust.
So, summer came and went, and while the ice cream vans rolled by every afternoon, Activision didn’t spill any more beans about the game. They promised us more info “this summer,” but clearly, their calendars look different from mine. Because, folks, it’s mid-July now, and all we’ve got is a promise to wait until August. An endless cycle of anticipation, isn’t it?
Turns out, they’re planning a grand reveal at gamescom’s Opening Night Live on August 19 — mark your calendars, or maybe don’t, if you’re as scatterbrained as me. It’s one of those events where all the gaming bigwigs gather. Show starts at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm UK, if you’re keen.
You’d think they’d do a big solo event like usual, but nope. Seems like Call of Duty’s settled for sharing the stage this time around. Odd, right? Like dressing down for your own birthday party.
Anyway, no one really knows what they’re gonna show us. Could be a quick peek or maybe something that actually dives deep. I’m betting they’ll drag out more info later in August or maybe tease us till September — you know, right before they drop the beta. Classic move.
The game’s supposed to whisk us back to the near-future, bring back some co-op action. I’m guessing they’ll want to link it with Black Ops 6 somehow. Continuity is key, or so they say. If there’s some mind-blowing announcement about that, I hope it drops soon. Because seriously, the suspense is like waiting for water to boil — painful.
