Oh man, so I was just puttering around the other day and came across this thing — KIWI Design tossed out this new gadget. It’s called the K4 Duo. Now, if you’re into the whole VR scene with Quest 3, here’s a nugget for ya.
So, they say the K4 Duo’s like an audio and battery… hat? I dunno, head strap technically. Anyway, it plays nice with both the Meta Quest 3 and this 3S thing. And get this, you can wiggle these speakers around. You know, they stick out like those old-school headphones that never stayed put. But better, probably.
And, oh, they call it something fancy: ‘K4 Duo AIO Audio Head Strap with Battery’. Long title, right? There’s a switcheroo thing going on too, kinda like those light switches I always mix up. Plug it into the USB-C and boom — you’re flip-flopping audio like switching radio stations back in the day.
Battery’s a decent size at 2650mAh, in case you’re counting. But the weight, huh? A solid 459 grams. Not too light, but it won’t snap your neck either. And yeah, it’s got the typical bells and whistles. That twisty wheel thingy for size adjusting, two-way charging, comfy memory foam which, honestly, sounds like a hug for your head, and this, uh, strap on the top. Makes me think of seatbelts. Weird, I know.
Testing? Still on the to-do list. Lots of stuff to think about before it makes the cool list of Quest 3 and 3S accessories. Last year’s darling was the K4 Boost — a fave of ours, I must admit. Man, those were the days.
Anyhow, we should probably shuffle our recommendations soon. But until then, if you’re curious or you just need to splurge on something a bit geeky, the K4 Duo’s lounging around on KIWI’s site. They’ll ask for a cool $159.99 if you wanna nab it. Worth it? Maybe. Guess that’s up to the VR crowd, huh?
