Wow, so here’s the thing — I stumbled upon this crazy deal for this game, “Children of Morta.” It’s from 2019, but here we are. Maybe time doesn’t matter when you’re saving big? No idea why I noticed this, but the price dropped to just $4.39, which is like, a cup of fancy coffee. And who wouldn’t trade coffee for a whole adventure? Oh wait, maybe I would on a Monday. But still.
This game’s developed by Dead Mage (cool name), and 11 Bit Studios brought it to the PS Store under this “July Savings” thing in 2025 — yeah, I know, future sale, ha! Anyway, it’s for PS4 but works on PS5, loaded with goodness.
There’s this huge 80% slash on the price. Like, they went all out. Add-ons are cheap too. Ancient Spirits DLC is down to $1.74 if you’re riding the PS Plus wave; otherwise, $1.99. And then, get this, Paws and Claws DLC drops to $0.69 with PS Plus or $0.79 without. It’s almost funny money at this point.
Did I mention the complete edition’s originally $26.99? Yeah, you’re basically robbing them blind until July 17. Or doing them a favor? Who knows what they think.
The storyline? All about the Bergson family — seven characters to mess around with. There’s this whole bit about “guardians of the Mountain Morta” battling some ancient evil ’cause corruption is spreading. Sounds intense, right? Or maybe it’s just my friend’s kind of thing.
Local co-op’s in there. Then there’s a Family Trials mode. Separate from the main jam. Different systems, items, character builds… you name it. It’s got its own chaotic flow.
I digress. It’s supposedly packed with hours of fun. Maybe you could lose days in this, or maybe you just get distracted. Who knows. Anyway — no, wait — basically, it’s a total steal.
