Pokémon TCG Pocket’s been buzzing with the new Eevee Grove set, right? But here’s the thing: everyone’s kinda moving on, especially if they’ve snagged those must-have cards. And okay, confession time—I’ve got no absolute clue what the next set’s gonna bring. Maybe it’ll feature those Gen 2 and 3 critters? Been a while since we’ve seen them around. Whatever it is, we seriously need some beefed-up Fighting cards. Been ages since Triumphant Light delivered anything really solid there.
I mean, yeah, there are decent Fighting decks. Just feels like they’re stuck, you know? Like the same tracks replaying at a party. Mostly, they pull from Space-Time Smackdown or Triumphant Light—a snore-fest, if you ask me. Lucario Ex barely made a splash, and don’t even get me started on Passimian Ex and Lycanroc Ex. The real heavyweights? Rampardos and Garchomp Ex. Period.
Now, quick side note—I keep wondering why exactly Rampardos is the king in this game. Came out during Space-Time Smackdown, January 2025ish? Got 150 HP without even being an Ex card and smacks 130 damage with just one Fighting Energy. The kicker? Its Head Smash attack does whack itself for 50 recoil when it lands a KO. But hey, small price to pay, right?
Moving on, if you’re thinking about pairing Rampardos with something, Silvally might be your best bet. Came in with Extradimensional Crisis (don’t ask how they come up with these names). Silvally’s a Normal-type, so technically, some might argue it’s not pure Fighting—whatever that means.
Rampardos is quite the heavyweight, no doubt. Cracking open boosters from Space-Time Smackdown almost feels like Christmas morning for it alone. Yet, the excitement fades—Fighting types just need something more explosive in the next set.
Oh, and can’t forget Garchomp Ex. Another oldie but a goodie from Triumphant Light with 170 HP. Can deal 50 damage to any enemy Pokémon, even those benchwarmers. Or go all out with Dragon Claw for a sweet 100 damage. Rampardos and Garchomp Ex together? That’s the stuff of dreams. Mix in Lillie—or Cyrus if you’re feeling spicy—to heal damage or swap opponents in and out. Wild times, indeed.
