Let me try spinning a little tale here—bare with me, it’s gonna get a bit messy. So, Fireball 2 by Radiangames, yeah? It’s basically this wild arcade sprint on the PS5. Imagine a fireball. You are that fireball. You’re zipping around, setting off bombs, dodging like a madman while thousands of, well, I guess they’re enemies, chase you down. Seriously. It’s like being hunted by an angry pixel army. Neon lights everywhere. My eyes were basically on a rollercoaster, but hey, that’s the thrill, right?
Now, onto gameplay modes, like they give you Core right off the bat. It’s your typical “ease you into chaos” vibe. You gotta dodge and weave, dance around bombs—Zen mode required, trust me. Stick long enough with it, and bam! Chaos Mode unlocks. It gets its name for a reason. You move, they move, and somehow your movement spawns them? Like, can’t they give a guy a break? Anyway, it’s a step up from Core. Slower enemies but more of them—nothing straightforward here, let me tell you.
Left stick or D-pad, that’s your steering wheel in this frenzy. Just move around and touch bombs to set them off. You’ll need that boost (seriously, the X or Square or whatever button you like), but don’t overdo it unless you wanna play chicken with your life. Boost straight into a new wave of enemies? Yup, been there, done that. Just as smart as it sounds.
Now, something I didn’t see coming—Novas. Yeah, once you blast through enough enemies, these bigger, badder bombs pop up. Go Nova and your fireball gets an upgrade, which isn’t half bad. Faster, bigger, and an extra life! Level up and these Novas turn Super, you can even merge two into a Blackhole. Not even kidding, it’s like vacuuming foes into a black abyss while you sit invincible. Who thought of this?!?
If you’re a trophy hunter—hear me out—you might get a kick. There’s a Platinum trophy in this mess, 4 Bronze, 9 Silver, 7 Gold, and all these crazy things to achieve. Survive waves, detonate Novas, wipe out a million enemies (no biggie), or maybe die 10 times. Goals, right?
In a nutshell, it’s arcade mayhem with a neon twist and priced at $6.99. I got dizzy writing this, it’s that kind of game. Full credit to Radiangames for tossing this chaos my way—and my PS5 copy too. If that sounds like your cup of tea, dive in, buckle up. It’s a ride.
