Whoa, so, last week was a whirlwind. Another Summer Game Fest in LA, right? I was hopping from one game preview to the next. Some were indie gems, others… full-blown, wallet-emptying AAA titles.
Oh, Honorable Mentions
First up, there were these behind-the-scenes demos. You know, where you watch but can’t touch? Some just had a bunch of cutscenes. Saw some cool stuff, but couldn’t play ’em. Gotta love it.
Resident Evil Requiem – Capcom’s all-in — like, fueling the fear machine. This “addictive fear” theme? Right. You’re back in Raccoon City, first, third-person views. Fans, brace yourselves.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – Even if Onimusha’s not your thing, watch out for this one. Jam-packed with action, those folklore vibes — seriously, more footage please, Capcom?
Directive 8020 – Supermassive is doing their Dark Pictures thing again. Barely played it, but dodging space monsters in stealth mode was… intense. Read our full preview elsewhere for those juicy details.
Bandit Trap
So, kinda obsessed with Wii U because what’s not to love about that asymmetrical multiplayer, right? Enter Bandit Trap. Think Home Alone meets slapstick heist. Break in, grab the loot, avoid traps. It’s madness, in the most delightful way.
Crimson Desert
Now, Crimson Desert. Mixed reviews on the name, seriously. But forget that — open-world RPG chaos! Feels a bit Witcher-y, maybe Dragon’s Dogma-ish… swarms of enemies and paraglider moments? Yeah. Just don’t mix it up with other stuff.
Deadpool VR
Deadpool VR! Now this blew my mind. It’s back, comically. Twisted Pixel nails it. Funny deadpan remarks about Pokémon Snap even. Neil Patrick Harris as Deadpool? Yes, please. Fingers crossed for PlayStation VR2!
Dosa Divas
Hey, there’s this RPG, Dosa Divas. Love food, love games — how could I not notice? Picture Paper Mario with a big pinch of spice. Sisters taking on a fast food villain. If cooking RPGs are your niche, this might be your thing.
FBC: Firebreak
Another shooter? I hear ya. But Remedy’s FBC: Firebreak backs away from the FOMO fest. Mid-price, no crazy check-ins. Plus, that nod to Control fans? Sticky Ricky and his sticky notes of doom? You’ll see soon enough — June 17th!
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Okay, Marvel Cosmic Invasion was huge. But hush-hush for now. Stay tuned over at our sister site for the deets post-embargo.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
Ninja Gaiden fans, don’t miss Ragebound! Dive back into side-scrolling, ninja-everything action. Kenji Mozu steps up, ninja style. Speedrunners, get ready. Demo’s up on Steam, full launch? July 31. Mark it!
Pragmata
Finally touching Pragmata again. Puzzle plus shooter, right? With those futuristic robots and Pipe Mania hacking? My, uh, gaming dollar’s already spent. When it finally drops, I’d say look out for it.
Ratatan
Now let’s talk Ratatan. Didn’t have a PSP but here we go again, Patapon fans. Rhythm with a roguelike twist sounds wild. Led a cute, tiny army. Boss fight was a nail-biter.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
With Wuchang, I thought I was ready — spoiler: I wasn’t. It smacked me down before I got the rhythm. If Soulslike is your jam, this is your playground. Last-second dodges for killer counterattacks. Solid stuff once you get it.
And… I think that’s it for now. Probably missed some details, but whatever — the chaos of game fests, ya know?
