Sure thing. Here goes nothing.
So, okay, Spike Chunsoft pops up and it’s like, "Hey folks, guess what? Shuten Order’s dropping digitally on the Nintendo Switch! Europe and North America, we see you!" It’s kind of a big deal, right? Anyway—
Guess who’s in on this wild ride? EXNOA, the gang behind DMM Games, and yeah, they’re tag-teaming with Tookyo Games. You’ve got Kazutaka Kodaka, the brain who cooked up Danganronpa, steering the ship. Sounds chaotic already! It’s like, five games crammed into one. Stealth action horror mingling with a visual novel. Nuts.
“168 days till the world calls it quits.” Cheery, huh? The earth’s kind of a mess, and then there’s these Shuten Order folks, a bunch of religious zealots, wanting the world to hit the reset button. They gain steam and bam! A nation’s born. But plot twist—the founder gets whacked one day.
But hold up! They’re back. Sort of. Say hi to Rei Shimobe, the sort-of resurrected protagonist. But—get this—their memory’s wiped and they’ve only got four days on the clock. Feel the pressure yet?
Enter stage left: two “angels.” Yeah, angels. They tell Rei, “You want a real resurrection? Hunt down your murderer. You’ve got, oh, four days.” No stress.
Digital-only Shuten Order hits the eShop on September 5, 2025. Mark the date… or don’t. It’s your call.
So who are these characters? There’s:
-
Rei Shimobe (Mitsuki Saiga voices the big cheese of Shuten Order.)
-
Kishiru Inugami (Daisuke Ono), Minister of Justice. Totally unpredictable and, surprise, surprise, loves his legal drugs. Dubbed “Ghost White Arbitrator.” Intriguing, right?
-
Yugen Ushitora (Yuki Ono). He runs the health gig—Shuten General Hospital, to be exact. Master of medical voodoo, loves his sis more than anything. “Gatekeeper to the Afterlife,” no joke.
-
Teko Ion (Ayumu Murase) tackles science. Socially awkward, genius. Typical. This guy designs about everything tech. Goes by “Prodigy.” Modest, huh?
-
Honoka Kokushikan (Inori Minase), handling education. Her nickname? “Conjurer of Words.” Mysterious as heck, with dreams of ruling the roost.
- Manji Fushicho (Shizuka Ito) keeps people in line as Minister of Security. Has a thing for hunting heretics. Wants peace, but like, only on her terms.
Now for our heavenly hosts—Himeru (Aoi Yuki), the slightly panicky angel pushing Rei along, with a personal beef against Shuten. And then there’s Mikotoru (Toshiyki Morikawa), cool as a cucumber, guiding but dodging the tough questions. Typical.
Betting this chaotic adventure keeps us glued. Or maybe not. Who knows? Catch it on Switch. Or maybe you won’t. Choices, choices.
