Alright, so I don’t know if you’re into video games or whatever, but something big popped up today. I mean, I was just going through that whole PlayStation thingy, you know, the State of Play? And suddenly, BOOM, they drop this bomb about a new Marvel fighting game. It’s called something like Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Weird name, right? But cool. And they’re saying it’ll hit PS5 and PC in, like, 2026 or something. Feels like forever away, right?
So, this game, Marvel Tokon, it’s got all these superheroes and villains squaring off. Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man—you know, the usual favorites. Even Doctor Doom and Ghost Rider are jumping in. Not that I ever understood Ghost Rider… but anyway. They’re taking their moves straight from the comics—or at least, that’s what they say. I wonder if they’ll nail it. Maybe? Maybe not.
Oh, and this game director guy, Kazuto Sekine, he’s talking about making this game super accessible. Like, apparently, you don’t need to know a million characters to get into it. Thank goodness, because who has time for that? He says you can just mess around with one character and it’s all good. Easy-peasy. Button mashers unite!
And the battles are gonna be 4v4. Four versus four! Is that even a thing? Sounds kind of wild. Sekine thinks it’ll push the genre forward. Well, okay, if you say so, Sekine.
Okay, then Sony also went and announced this new fight stick—Project Defiant. Fancy name for a controller, huh? It’s wireless with some special tech for low, low latency. Like, you’ll barely notice a delay. But if you’re old-school, you can plug it in with USB-C.
That’s about it, I think. But, hey, at least it sounds fun, right? Or maybe it’s just me getting lost in the hype… who knows.
