Alright, so IO Interactive just kinda tossed out their first real tidbit about that James Bond game they’ve been cooking up since, what, 2020? I mean, it’s called 007 First Light — not gonna lie, the name’s kinda cool. But they really didn’t say much, just dropped some artwork on Twitter. Classic tease move.
But hey, hang tight ‘cause more is apparently coming our way real soon. Like, literally this week. They’re planning some events, so stay on your toes or whatever.
Oh man, they’re even having their debut showcase. It’s a fancy thing, called the IOI Showcase — catchy, huh? It’s happening live in LA this Friday, June 6. And if you’re not there, no sweat, it’s streaming too. What was it? 6pm PT, 9pm ET, and for UK folks, well, hope you’re a night owl ‘cause it’s at 2am.
Now get this, it’s like a couple hours after the Summer Game Fest starts up at 2pm PT. So maybe Geoff Keighley will toss a sneak peek our way and tell us to check out the showcase later. Wouldn’t that be neat?
They’ll be spilling the beans on gameplay and sharing updates about IOI Partners gigs like MindsEye. Maybe some Hitman stuff, too, just to keep it spicy.
But yeah, about 007 First Light — still no clue when it’s releasing. They said multi-platform, trilogy vibes, yet the only sure bet’s a release on the upcoming Switch 2. Likely we’ll see it on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox too, fingers crossed. Friday should clear the air on all that, maybe even throw us a bone with a release date for this mysterious creature of a game.
And oh, it’s a fresh Bond origin story — think young James, doing his not-so-Bond-yet stuff. New character, new tales, not tied to the flicks. That’s all I got; we’ll see how this unfolds!
