Bloober Team, right? They’ve been crafting these eye-popping horror games for a while. But if you were hoping for more action instead of just hiding from spooky stuff—well, aside from that Silent Hill 2 Remake, yeah, not much luck. Enter Cronos: The New Dawn.
And let me tell you, it’s not just another hide-and-seek fest. Nope. This one’s got some real guts, especially for folks like me who want something to swing at in these games.
Anyway—so, Cronos popped up on the radar not too long ago, and man, those action-horror fans are buzzing. At first glance, it seemed like a Dead Space déjà vu, you know? But, nah, it’s got some twists. Weirdly enough, enemies can kinda morph together, right in front of you. It’s like, one minute you’re facing a basic baddie and suddenly, boom, upgraded monster chaos. You’ve gotta be sharp about your battle spots.
So, in this gameplay walkthrough—oh, spoiler alert—dead foes can like, get absorbed? Enemies just feast on them and, poof, they’re beefed up with extra health and nasty moves. Luring them away from corpses feels, strangely strategic, almost like chess but with blood and gore.
It’s uncommon, sure, but super clever for a horror setup. Bloober also mentioned that resources are scarce, so don’t go charging in like Rambo.
Caught up with the game directors earlier (yeah, name-drop moment). They chatted about why they leaned into action this time and how they’re blending in that creepy past vibe.
By the way, no word on the release date yet. But hey, it’s supposed to drop this fall on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Keep an eye out, or don’t—I’m not your boss!
