Hey, so I was thinking about the other day when Apple decided to shake things up at their big show—WWDC or whatever it’s called. Crazy, right? They announced that come fall, Vision Pro is going to be buddy-buddy with PSVR 2 Sense controllers. Who’d have thought? It’s like mixing PB&J but with tech, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, some dude on YouTube, Nathie, got his hands on this stuff super early. Lucky guy. He played around with these controllers and Vision Pro’s system, just messing with apps and showing off the goods. I mean, the way he describes it—scrolling with eye-tracking and messing with thumbsticks—it sounds like a sci-fi flick where you just stare and things move. Why am I even so fascinated by thumbsticks? No clue.
So, while Nathie was doing his thing, it’s kinda weird because the real juicy part—using those controllers like they’re meant for, super precise and all—wasn’t really there. Apparently, Apple wasn’t planning on VR motion controllers at first. Seriously, no controllers? Just flying solo with eye and hand magic. They were really aiming to make this into a ‘spatial computer.’ Imagine that—a computer you can walk around in. Wild.
Now they’re expanding, or so it seems. Thinking beyond the work-desk and FaceTime into more game-like stuff. You know, shooters, rhythm games, stuff that makes you sweat a bit. But there’s this little catch. Vision Pro costs as much as a small used car. Yup, $3,500 is no joke. So, not everyone’s jumping onboard just yet. I mean, who can blame them?
The numbers aren’t exactly mind-blowing, either. Some analyst is saying they’ve only moved about 500,000 units. Compared to others, that’s peanuts. Maybe the next version will be cheaper? Gosh, I hope so. Plus, getting those Sense controllers is like a treasure hunt—unless you luck out on eBay or something. What a headache.
So, there we have it. Apple’s moving, maybe a bit slow, or maybe I’m just impatient. Anyway, here’s to hoping the Vision Pro 2 doesn’t dent the wallet quite as much—or force you to buy a whole PSVR 2 just for those controllers. Let’s see what happens next.
