Sure thing, here we go:

So, Samsung’s mixed reality headset—I mean, seriously, where is this thing? They didn’t show it off at that Unpacked event or even Google I/O before that. But hey, don’t freak out just yet. Samsung swears this Android XR-based gizmo is still on its way this year. Or so they say.
Had this odd moment during a recent earnings call (no idea why I was even listening in), and Samsung’s all, “Yeah, we’re still doing this Project Moohan thing.” But like, that’s just a placeholder name right? We still don’t know what to really call it, or even when it’ll pop up, or if it’s gonna make my wallet cry. Annoying, right?
So, Daniel Araujo from Samsung’s ‘MX’ department blurted out something in their Q2 2025 earnings call. Something like, “We got cool stuff coming, including an XR headset and this TriFold phone.” So wait—what? A phone that folds into thirds? Crazy times, I tell you.
Look at that image of Project Moohan—if you squint, it’s almost like you can see the future. Or maybe it’s just a blurry mess. But anyway, what’s up with Samsung being all shy about this project? You’d think they’d wanna get developers all psyched about making apps for their Android XR system. But nope, barely a peep. Missed chances, I guess.
Oh, and remember Samsung Unpacked in July? Me neither, because Moohan wasn’t really there. Neither was that TriFold phone, by the way. Makes you wonder, are they planning like a surprise party later this year?
Okay, so what do we know about Moohan, really? Well, it’s got this Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 2 stuff inside. Fancy, right? Plus, some micro-OLED screens from Sony—no idea on pixel details there. Apparently, it’s gonna have these slimming pancake lenses, adjust based on your eyes, track your eyes and hands—gee, do they do dishes too? Also, it’s supposed to work with VR motion controllers, but who knows what they look like.
And if you’re itching to dive deeper, go check out our hands-on with Moohan from December 2024. It’s got thoughts on comfort and display clarity—though why I’m telling you this, beats me. It’s like Horizon OS mixed with VisionOS. Or maybe I’m just seeing things.
Catch you later with more chaos when Samsung decides to spill the deets.
