‘Among Us VR’ Renamed to ‘Among Us 3D’, Introducing Flatscreen PC Compatibility

Schell Games and Innersloth are making waves with an announcement that will delight fans of the beloved game Among Us. They’re extending flat screen support to the VR version, marking a significant step forward by enabling crossplay between VR and PC users.

In a major update, the VR game is getting a fresh identity. It’s now called Among Us 3D, bringing the immersive first-person experience right to the screens of PC gamers for the very first time. This rebranding is more than just a name change—it’s a game-changer for the community.

Among Us 3D will make it possible for PC users to join forces with VR players seamlessly, across a plethora of platforms like Quest, SteamVR, PSVR 2, and Pico headsets. It’s a thrilling leap toward uniting the player base and expanding the horizon of deception and strategy.

However, a little heads up: Among Us 3D won’t hook up with the classic 2D version of Among Us, which has stayed its own distinct world since the VR variant debuted in November 2022.

Ryan Hall, Project Director at Schell Games, shared his enthusiasm by saying, “With Among Us 3D, we’re excited to bring the first-person perspective to an even wider audience. By uniting VR and PC players, we’re opening up even more ways to brutally betray your friends—your whole crew can get in on the fun!”

This transformation is expected to unfold over the next few months, with updates popping up across store pages, websites, and in-game graphics, ensuring a smooth transition to Among Us 3D.

But that’s not all—there’s a new twist. The game will introduce an in-game currency called ‘Stardust’. This clever addition will allow players to snag cosmetic items and, according to the studios, help support the game’s growth and evolution.

Though a specific launch date hasn’t been nailed down, players can expect to catch a sneak peek soon. Among Us 3D is set to make an appearance at Steam Next Fest, offering an exciting early demo to whet players’ appetites before the official release.

This evolution of Among Us is shaping up to be a thrilling adventure, expanding the ways in which players can engage and play together. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates, as this promises to be a pivotal moment for impostors and crewmates everywhere.
