Okay, so here’s the thing. Final Fantasy 14, right? Big deal if you’re into it. And guess what? The guys with the cat and bunny ears—yeah, Hrothgar and Viera—are finally getting hats that fit. Can you believe it? I mean, years of headgear drought, and now it’s raining hats. Patch 7.3 is bringing in the good stuff, finally making those ears useful for something other than cuteness, I suppose.
Here’s the kicker: since 2019, these characters have been stuck with bare noggins—thanks to their “unique” heads, whatever that means. Ears poking out like they own the place. I mean, it makes sense—how do you fit a standard helmet over bunny ears? Square Enix is saying more hats, even helmets, are coming soon. Fingers crossed they throw in some of those fancy outfits they’re selling but that cat people can’t wear. Priorities, right?
Now, moving on—oh, wait, there’s more. Hats aren’t the only thing on the table, FYI. The big boss Naoki Yoshida and community guy Toshio Murouchi spilled the beans about other updates. Patch 7.3, dubbed The Promise of Tomorrow (dramatic much?), wraps up the Dawntrail saga, hitting screens early August. Or, well, that’s the plan.
Oh, and there’s new stuff—something about the Yok Huy society, an expert dungeon (Level 100!), and more trials than you can shake a stick at, like the 24-player San d’Oria: The Second Walk—what a name, right? Then there’s the Unreal trial with Seiryu—sounds ominous—and a new Deep Dungeon called Pilgrim’s Traverse. Whoever comes up with these names must have a blast.
But let’s be honest, it’s the hats that stole the show. Hrothgar and Viera can finally top off those ears after six long years. It’s like the end of a saga—sweeter than getting that perfect raid.
And hey, for folks who want to dive in, Final Fantasy 14 Online’s everywhere: Mac, PlayStation (4 and 5), Windows PC, Xbox—you name it. Anyway, happy questing or raiding or whatever you do on there!
