Apple’s Newest AI Tools Set for Vision Pro Release in April, Early Access for Developers Now Available

Apple is set to expand the reach of its sophisticated AI toolkit, Apple Intelligence, to the Vision Pro headset this coming April. This rollout will coincide with the public release of visionOS 2.4. For those eager to explore its features ahead of time, developer mode grants early access.

Apple Intelligence is gearing up to enhance Vision Pro with an impressive array of AI-driven features. Expect familiar tools like writing aids, the ability to generate images with AI, smart reply options for messaging, natural language searches within your Photos, AI-generated summaries, and even custom emojis. These are all enhancements we’ve seen across iOS and Mac since Apple’s first introduction last October. Vision Pro stands to benefit greatly from these features, leveraging voice commands and hand gestures for text input.

One of the benefits unveiled in the upcoming Vision Pro update is a more intuitive Guest User mode. This makes it easier for owners to share their Vision Pro experience with others using an iPhone or iPad. No more convoluted step-by-step guides; now, you can guide your guests through the VR experience with ease, sidestepping the typical confusion that comes when taking someone on a VR tour.

There’s more to anticipate with the release: the introduction of Spatial Gallery. This feature serves as a curated showcase of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas crafted by talented artists, filmmakers, and photographers. Upon its launch, users in regions including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the US can revel in its offerings.

Vision Pro is also set to enjoy a closer integration with iOS. With the debut of visionOS 2.4, users will gain new capabilities like queuing up app and game downloads and exploring spatial content with greater ease. All this will be accessible directly from a new Apple Vision Pro iOS app, which should hit devices alongside iOS 18.4.

Initially, these enhancements will be available only in U.S. English, but Apple plans to roll out more features and support additional languages as the year progresses. Although a specific date hasn’t been nailed down beyond the April window, Apple has released a developer beta version of visionOS 2.4. Developers can get started by heading to Settings, selecting Privacy & Security, enabling “Developer Mode,” and restarting their Vision Pro.

Stay tuned as Apple continues to push the boundaries of immersive AI technology.
