Ready to dive back into the fray with a classic reborn? SNK’s iconic Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is roaring back to life, set to release on April 24, 2025, exclusively for Xbox Series X|S. But if you’re itching for some early action, you’re in luck! The Open Beta kicks off tomorrow and runs through February 24, offering a sneak peek into this next-gen fighting extravaganza. It’s packed with cutting-edge mechanics, a striking comic book-inspired art style, and adaptable controls that cater to everyone from rookies to battle-hardened veterans. So, gear up, start strategizing, and get ready to take on the fiercest fighters South Town has to offer!

The Open Beta of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves extends an invitation to players eager to experience the fight firsthand. Step into the ring and experience the smoothness of rollback netcode and the thrill of cross-network play. With eight characters to choose from, you can engage friends in three online modes: Ranked Match, Casual Match, and Room Match. If you’re new to the world of Fatal Fury, there’s an offline Tutorial mode designed to get you up to speed.

What sets City of the Wolves apart is the Rev System, a new toolset designed to supercharge your offensive strategies right from the start of the match. Only those who master and balance each Rev technique will earn the title of champion in South Town. For those keen on delving into these mechanics, our official Fighting Guide is the perfect resource to help you on your journey.

During the Open Beta, players get a taste of South Town’s infamous characters, including the legendary Terry Bogard and the popular fiery ninja Mai Shiranui. Terry is versatile, handling both close and long-range attacks with ease, making him ideal for new players. His moves, Power Charge and Crack Shoot, are excellent at keeping opponents on their toes. Mai, on the other hand, offers an array of special moves, with her Sayo Chidori effectively pressuring opponents while blocking, and her Musasabi no Mai providing smooth stage movement.

Meet some new challengers like Preecha, a disciplined Muay Thai expert with precise strikes, and Vox Reaper, a demonic fighter whose karate skills add an intense flair to the battle. Preecha’s strategy focuses on relentless attacks, utilizing moves like the Hyperbolic Kick and Rev Preecha’s Combination for potent offenses. Vox boasts long-range attacks and a powerful shockwave move, Kokuen Ryuu, making his threat ever-present across the battlefield.

As the dust settles, a blend of familiar legends and fresh faces rounds out the Open Beta roster. Rock Howard, with his balance of special moves, uses Shippuu Ken to control the battlefield, while the mighty Shinkuu Nage throws opponents off balance. Hotaru Futaba relies on speed and tactical maneuvers to keep opponents guessing. Meanwhile, B. Jenet’s high-risk, high-reward style uses spiraling attacks and brakes for quick adaptations. Lastly, Kain R. Heinlein’s mastery lies in mid-to-long-range projectile assaults, dissecting enemy defenses with finesse.

The diversity of fighters promises thrilling matches, and there’s more to anticipate in the full release. With the streets of South Town brimming with action and ambition, the stage is set for a new legendary chapter in the Fatal Fury saga.

For players of all levels, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves offers two distinct control styles: Arcade Style for traditionalists and Smart Style for streamlined action, ensuring that both veterans and newcomers find their stride. It’s a reinvigoration of the classic series with eye-popping art, a mix of new and classic fighters, and enhanced battle systems. For more on gameplay, be sure to check out the official site.

Eager to secure your copy? Pre-orders for the Special Edition are now available, priced at $59.99 USD / €59.99 EUR. This edition includes the base game and Season Pass 1. Pre-ordering grants early access to the game starting April 21, 2025, and a classic Terry Bogard costume.

Mark your calendars for the full launch on April 24, 2025. Stay updated by following Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and KOF Studio across social media platforms like X, Instagram, and Discord. Welcome back to the vibrant chaos of South Town!
