Exciting news for fans of visual novels: Ever17: The Out of Infinity and Never 7: The End of Infinity are making their way to the Nintendo Switch. These classics are set to launch in Japan on March 6, 2025, and you’ll be able to grab them in a special Double Pack. Although the confirmed release is just for Japan, English speakers can rejoice since both games will support English language options.

Ever17 and Never 7 belong to the iconic Infinity series, originally released in 2002 and 2000, respectively. Both titles were penned by Kotaro Uchikoshi, a name many will recognize from the gripping Zero Escape and AI: The Somnium Files series.

These Nintendo Switch versions will sport crisp full HD visuals. Ever17, which saw a 3D remake for Xbox 360, returns to its 2D roots this time. But fear not; it brings along additional costumes from the Xbox version and a fresh 2D opening movie. The expanded story elements from the remake are also packed into this release.

Here’s a snapshot of what these games are about:

Ever17
Set in the spring of 2017, we follow Takeru Kuranari, a usual college student who finds himself at the underwater theme park "Remiyu." Unfortunately, an incident traps him there. Joined by system operator Sora, he learns that Remiyu has about 170 hours and 17 minutes before succumbing to water pressure. Stranded but not alone, Takeru teams up with the enigmatic Tsugumi and guide Yu, exploring the depths of the submerged theme park for an escape. What secrets does this sunken realm hold? It’s a mystery waiting for you to unravel.

Never7
Jumping ahead to April 1, 2019, the story centers on Makoto Ishihara, who wakes from a nightmare where he witnesses a girl’s tragic end. Makoto is attending a seminar camp on a remote island. The camp, meant to end uneventfully, soon spirals into a tale of dread and foreboding by April 6th, where "anxiety" morphs into "despair," and "premonition" becomes "tragedy." As you rely on fading memories to veer away from calamity, all secrets stand to be exposed. This sci-fi suspense romance weaves a captivating story as you strive to escape a closed loop of time.

For a glimpse into each game’s immersive world, be sure to check out their opening movies.
