The Nintendo Switch has undeniably made its mark as a smashing success, showing that raw processing power isn’t everything when it comes to gaming consoles. Its triumph lies in the combination of iconic Nintendo first-party games, a robust lineup of triple-A titles from third-party developers, and a treasure trove of indie hits. The Switch’s library rivals that of most platforms, both in quality and sheer number of games.

Two standout titles that have defined the platform are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, arguably among the top games released in the last ten years. Yet, the anticipation for the next big hit is always alive, especially considering how 2022 and 2023 were standout years for Nintendo’s offerings. Just in 2023, there were gems like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Metroid Prime Remastered, all exclusive to Nintendo’s platform. As we moved into 2024, we saw more exclusives, including exciting titles spotlighting characters like Princess Peach and Zelda.

Let’s dive into the major titles slated for the Nintendo Switch in 2024 and beyond. Which upcoming games have caught your eye with their release dates? Keep in mind, these dates focus primarily on North American releases.

Updated December 5, 2024, by Mark Sammut: With the close of 2024 just around the corner, 2025 has already begun to capture our attention. This upcoming year’s section offers even more expansive insights.

### December 2024 Nintendo Switch Games

#### Fairy Tail, Legacy of Kain, & More

December 2024 might seem a bit sparse, especially since the pace of releases slows significantly midway through the month. However, Switch fans have a few treats in store, including remasters of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver series. Fairy Tail 2 is also promising, much like Square Enix’s Fantasia Neo Dimension.

Here are the highlights:
– December 1: Wobbly Life (Switch), 2weistein in Asban (Switch)
– December 3: Sinvers on Wheels (Switch), Antonblast (PC, Switch)
– December 5: Fantasia Neo Dimension (PC, PS5, PS4, Switch), Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer (Switch)
– December 10: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered (PC, PS5, Switch)

### January 2025 Nintendo Switch Games

#### Donkey Kong Country, Tales, & More

January 2025 is shaping up to be unusually busy for the Nintendo Switch, offering a versatile lineup that includes RPGs, platformers, Metroidvanias, and even a Star Wars title. RPG lovers should mark their calendars for Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana and Tales of Graces f Remastered, two well-regarded entries in their franchises. The latter’s combat system is especially celebrated.

The headline game for January 2025 is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. This revamp breathes new life into a fantastic platformer originally released on the Wii, promising to deliver the same high-quality experience.

Notable releases include:
– January 7: Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana (Switch)
– January 16: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch)
– January 23: Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles Remaster (Switch)

### February 2025 Nintendo Switch Games

#### Civilization, Tomb Raider, & More

As we look ahead to February 2025, the lineup for the Nintendo Switch may not stack up against the heavy hitters on PS5 or Xbox. However, there’s still plenty to be excited about, especially for strategy fans. Civilization 7 stands out as the potential gem of the month for Switch players. Provided it performs well on the hardware, this 4X game from Firaxis promises to be as engaging as its predecessors.

Release highlights include:
– February 11: Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 (Switch)
– February 14: Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered (Switch)

### March 2025 Nintendo Switch Games

#### Xenoblade Chronicles X, Suikoden, & More

March 2025 is maintaining the momentum built by previous months. It promises a strong lineup, headlined by a definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Known for its combat, this spinoff is adding new story elements to elevate an already captivating experience.

Some must-watch titles include:
– March 6: Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster (Switch)
– March 20: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch)

### April 2025 Nintendo Switch Games

#### Fantasy Life i & More

The picture for April 2025’s Switch lineup is still coming into focus, but a few titles are making waves. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is one such title targeting an April release, capitalizing on Level-5’s reputation for quality. Another intriguing addition is Mandragora, a 2D side-scroller with Soulslike elements. Plus, Poppy’s Playtime is set to join the Switch’s library.

### Major 2025 Nintendo Switch Games With No Release Dates

#### Metroid Prime, Little Nightmares, & More

Even though 2025 hasn’t fully revealed its gaming card, several anticipated titles are on the docket, though dates remain elusive. Among them, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is likely a top contender for the year’s biggest release—or perhaps for the entire console lifecycle. Little Nightmares 3 promises to introduce co-op gameplay to its eerie universe. Potential hits like Citizen Sleeper 2 and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st are keenly awaited.

### Major Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games With No Release Year

#### Pokemon Legends & More

Looking further ahead, it’s clear the Nintendo Switch has an expansive future, even as its lifecycle inches towards conclusion. Exciting upcoming projects like Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Hollow Knight: Silksong will undoubtedly make a splash upon release, though whether this will happen in 2025 or later is still up for speculation.
