Fans of virtual worlds and creators interested in sharing their latest breakthroughs have until October 29, 2024, to put forward their proposals for this year’s OpenSimulator Community Conference. The clock is ticking as the conference, now in its twelfth year, prepares to host a vibrant gathering of the OpenSim community.
“We’re counting on your participation as we dive into our twelfth year, celebrating how open source virtual worlds contribute to creativity, technology, artistry, and education,” said Cynthia Calongne, one of the event’s co-chairs, who is also known in virtual circles as “Lyr Lobo.”
Scheduled for December 7 and 8, the two-day conference promises a dynamic lineup of presentations covering creative, educational, technical, and experiential topics connected to OpenSimulator and the broader open metaverse. Calongne enthusiastically encouraged folks to bring their unique content, insights, and achievements to the table, sharing with Hypergrid Business how each contribution adds to the collective experience.
Organizers are particularly eager to see presentations brimming with innovative content, significant milestones within the OpenSim universe, bold visions for the future of open source virtual realms, and inventive uses of OpenSimulator tech.
Each presentation will last 20 minutes, ensuring a fast-paced series of insights. In addition to speaker sessions, attendees can look forward to community-led tours, an Expo, content giveaways, and opportunities for hypergrid exploration.
On October 31, those whose proposals make the cut will receive an acceptance email. To confirm their place in the program, accepted speakers must register for the event by November 7.
