“I think of someone who holds [the goddess] Woedica in high regard, placing a premium on principles like law, order, and just leadership above all else,” explains Patricia Patel. “And if Abydon, the Smith, is your deity of choice, it doesn’t negate your belief in other gods. It just means you put a higher value on industry, perseverance, and dedication. This approach allows us to give these factions distinctive traits, making it clearer for players to understand their essence.”
This interplay is vividly evident in the game’s architecture and costume design, each aspect intricately intertwined. “Our world feels like a living, breathing entity,” says Dennis Presnell, the Lead Environment Artist. “What you see in the game reflects what we experienced during its creation. It’s been a really iterative journey that grows as team members introduce new elements or storytelling ideas. We’ve all built on each other’s contributions, creating a world that’s rich in variety yet feels truly integrated and authentic.”
