Seems like just yesterday that Red Dead Redemption 2 galloped onto PS Plus, tempting us all to finally dive back into its sprawling, open-world Western narrative. Yet, October sees it ride off into the sunset again—alongside several other notable titles—leaving the PlayStation subscription service.
If you check out the "Last Chance" section on the PSN store via your PS5 or PS4, you’ll find an updated list of games bidding farewell to the PS Plus Extra library as the month wraps up. Alongside Red Dead Redemption 2, which rejoined only in May, the Kingdom Hearts series is also exiting stage left. That’s a tough hit for me personally, since I just kicked things off with the first game with my kids over the weekend. Here’s a rundown of the 16 games that will be leaving in October:

Another standout departure is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, while gems like Blasphemous and What Remains of Edith Finch will surely be missed. Meanwhile, Teardown offers a unique, voxel-based havoc-wreaking experience that’s surprisingly addictive. The Red Dead Redemption 2 visit was a brief six months, and this marks the latest batch of Square Enix RPGs, including the Kingdom Hearts saga, to exit PS Plus.
Gamers have become pretty adept at predicting which titles might be leaving PS Plus, thanks to the typical six, 12, and 18-month agreements that most companies enter into. Based on those patterns, some believed that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Humanity might also be on the verge of departure, but they seem to be sticking around for a while.
