Whoa, so this week has this Drag x Drive trial thing going on with Switch 2. I mean, spoilers already, right?
Okay, so here’s this week: kind of quiet, but then it’s like boom, everything happens at once. First week of August, and I’m already lost — but whatever, Gradius Origins dropped (remember that from the Switch 1 Direct in March? I do, and I don’t know why). It’s got these lasers, and apparently, they’re necessary to beat the boss in NES Pro Wrestling. I know. Wild.
If shooting stuff isn’t your vibe, check out The House of the Dead 2 remake. But fair warning, it’s from Forever Entertainment. Or, switch gears completely, and dive into some anime worlds with Demon Slayer or Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Choices, choices.
Weird little gems to keep an eye on: The Edge of Allegoria, it looks like an HD Pokémon, but not really a legal troublemaker this week. And then there’s Team17 with Ritual of Raven. It’s… something.
Oh, and stuff we blanked on last week: A Partner Showcase with some cozy thing by the fire (how did we miss this?), plus another nonsaga mystery from Square Enix. And, surprise, some 3DS Harvest Moons are now on the Switch, which is… nice, I guess? Taito’s “Field Day” popped in too. Late to the party, but what can you do?
So about this EggConsole game — something about playing it without knowing Japanese. I mean, apparently, it’s more of an action RPG, feels a bit talky though, and I just can’t keep up sometimes.
Here’s what’s up for grabs in North America:
– Demon Slayer 2 for about 60 bucks (or more if you’re Canadian, my condolences) on Tuesday.
– Gradius Origins, a classic, for the nostalgic types.
– Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered drops Wednesday if you’re into that.
– The House of the Dead 2 remake, honestly not sure if that’s a good thing or not.
– Fitness Adventure Pro — because gaming is the new treadmill these days.
– Bunch of quirky stuff like The Edge of Allegoria and Turbo Kid.
Sales alert: Roki’s going for a steal — 90% off until mid-August. Thank me later.
And Europe’s got mostly the same lineup — Demon Slayer, Gradius, Fate, etc. Maybe slightly different price tags, but what do I know about euros and pounds?
Japan’s got its exclusive vibes too with Yuukyuu no Tierblade and Operation Night Strikers. Plus, Gradius — it’s everywhere, it seems.
Anyway, this is what’s hot and happening. I didn’t think I’d be looking at a mix of zombies, anime, and workout adventures today, but here we are. Whatever floats your boat, right?
And that’s the roundup. Play whatever makes the week a little less absurd!
